5 ways to spend your NYE: For Foodies

8 December 2014

There are many ways to ring in the New Year in Hong Kong and one of the ways is through food. If you're a foodie and are on the hunt for a place to make your belly happy, then here are 5 places to throw into the bag of ideas:

Reminiscent of an ancient Chinese family courtyard, Hutong is presenting a ten dish banquet menu for New Year’s served alongside commanding views of Victoria Harbour. Priced at HKD2,015 +10% per guest with traditional Chinese entertainment and a countdown DJ, dishes include Hand-dived whole abalone braised in oyster sauce, Wok-fried Wagyu stewed in dark Shanxi vinegar and signature Grilled rack of lamb with herbs & cumin.

Celebrate Christmas the Catalan way! Enjoy festive Spanish dishes, such as Lobster paella, Fire-roasted rib-eye with country potatoes and padrón peppers and Whole seabass with lemon, garlic and romesco sauce. The package costs HK$588 and is available for dinner on Christmas eve and for both dinner and lunch Christmas Day. The whole familia can welcome in the New Year with live music and a Spanish feast (5-courses, $1,088).

Two Michelin starred Duddell’s is the venue of choice for a chic Christmas this year. Enjoy a range of carefully curated authentic Cantonese menus from December 21 - 31 when Duddell’s  will ring in the New Year with their trademark New Year’s Eve party – a decadent affair with live entertainment and plenty of glamour that will keep guests celebrating until dawn. Menus from $1180 per person including a glass of champagne.
