FASHION WATCH: Sergio Rossi F/W Collab with Supermodel Bianca Brandolini d’Adda

31 July 2015

For those of you unfamiliar with Sergio Rossi, this Italian brand has been around since the 1960s. Sergio inherited shoe making tools from his self taught shoe-making father.  He followed in his footsteps and sold sandals originally along the beaches of Rimini. The break out for Sergio Rossi was when Gianni Versace asked Sergio Rossi to collaborate and create shoes for his runway collection for Versace.  Subsequent years of collaborations with design houses followed up to the point where Sergio Rossi became a brand in itself.

Recently, Sergio Rossi introduced its F/W 2016 collection with a special collaboration with Italian socialite Bianca Bandolini d’Adda. Bianca, best friends with fashionista Olivia Palermo, and her mother was a muse for Valentino, Bianca is a regular on the front row of all the major shows during fashion week and is part of the ‘fashion-elite’.

The capsule collection “Bianca” reflects Bandolini d’Adda’s effortless cool androgynous style and her love for the tiny details, which makes for perfection. Think tuxedo buttons, lace and corsetry in boots, shoes and bags. The showpiece boots are really only suitable for supermodels, though they are beautiful and encapsulate all the signature details of the Bianca collaboration (thigh high boots with lace, corsetry boning and delicate tuxedo buttons).

For those who are not of supermodel proportions, look at the super chic clutches and the strappy close toed sandals with the tuxedo button details.  From the main collection, my heart did skip a beat over the black ankle boots.  Pointed toe, buckles at the ankle and lace up detailing with a gorgeous skinny heel.  The perfect city boot to dress up or down.

From August onwards, the F/W2015 collection will be available in stores.
